Guests with Special Needs

Luna Park Melbourne welcomes guests with special needs and disabilities into our Park to enjoy rides and our unique carnival atmosphere. While we always want our guests to have the best day out possible, our rides do have health and safety restrictions that ALL customers must adhere to. Alternately, we are always happy to chat to you about your specific needs and give you more personalised advice about your visit.

Disabled access

Risk assessments are conducted regularly and policies are reviewed annually to ensure that the Park remains as accessible as possible to all guests with disabilities, including wheelchair users.

Currently, the central areas of Luna Park are accessible via wheelchair and we have disabled facilities at both ends of the Park.
We undertake to make as much of the Park as possible available to disabled guests but due to the historic nature of Luna Park, many of the rides and some of the attractions are not wheelchair accessible.

Luna Park wants all our guests to enjoy its rides and attractions and does everything possible to accommodate guests with disabilities.
However, we must comply with various health and safety requirements that apply to disabled guests for their well being, as well as that of other guests and our staff.

For your safety, access to rides will not be allowed if Park staff deem access to be dangerous or inappropriate.Safety is always paramount and this is the major factor when considering what rides are suitable for each individual.

Ride Access with a Disability

The Scenic Railway:

Our 102 year old wooden roller coaster requires guests to evacuate on foot in case of an emergency.
Guests who are unable to evacuate on foot are unable to ride on the Scenic Railway.

For all other attractions:

Disabled guests will be required to sit unassisted to ride.
Some rides may be suitable for disabled guests that do require assistance to ride but for safety concerns the selection of rides will be limited and are determined by the specific disability, the motion of the ride, ingress and egress, evacuation procedures and the safety of the guest.
Luna Park staff are not permitted to physically assist guests mounting or dismounting rides.

The park is accessible for the wheelchair user and they have disabled facilities at both the ends of park. There are few rides and attraction which are not suitable for the disable user due to safety reasons. The parking is bit costly but you will not regret it once you visit the park
